  Server inventory

Over the last week I have been reviewing our systems and providers and one provider in particular where we have had issues with them in regards to their listed inventory not being up to date. This caused confusion and delayed some repairs to hardware in the NOC. It has been sorted out now and we have gone through and completely updated the inventory ourselves to ensure we do not have any further problems with this particular provider.

I am also in the process of reviewing all the Checks, Actions, Tasks: Schedules (CATS Method) which we have in place to pick up inconsistencies and problems in our systems and procedures. The one particular area I have been discussing with Bob to overhaul is the On Call and alerts systems and procedures. These will be in place by the end of the week. This review has also picked up more things we have identified to address in our support response systems to bring more efficiency and quality to the support team.

It's been a very busy week -- we've had two machines with serious disk issues, one which recovered near seamlessly and one that we had to rush a move to a new machine on a new network. Thankfully that's all behind us now.

This week is a busy one on support, with a few server issues causing high numbers and delaying response times a bit. The major issue from last week is now behind us, all accounts have been moved from the server which suffered a disk failure and the affected clients notified of the new details. I’ve also been working to identify any procedural inconsistencies both within the team and from a support co-ordinator standpoint which when improved will help the efficiency of the team.

Hi, this past week we have been working on mainly internal developments, this is to ensure that everything will be running smoothly. We do keep an eye on any problems with the controlpanel too which are then scheduled in and fixed on priority level.
