  Welcome

Late next week, those people who contacted me with interest to Beta test the control panel will be able to start using the new Control Panel for beta testing. Domain/site management, Databases, Users (ftp) and File Manager are all done. We are down to the last bits and pieces (the non-critical functions) which will be completed over the next few weeks. We will start introducing more and more clients to it as we gain feedback from beta testers.

Javier is back with us working on improving the automation parts of the control panel for even greater reliability of the backend systems, to give your more direct control over your web hosting account. This is also a key component of the new innovations we are going to develop and roll out in 2005.

Sanjay was back with us for 3 months helping develop specifications for a number of components in our systems and I have been working on specifications for new product developments set out in our Strategic plan for the next 5 years. Once the new control panel is released we have a big year of new developments ahead of us which we see as being very defining for the future of web hosting.

I am working on our marketing plans for 2005 and the big question I have on my mind is "What problems do people have when they are choosing a web host provider?" I would appreciate if you could send me a quick email with the the major concerns, frustrations or problems you experienced when buying web hosting. I am really looking forward to your thoughts. This week has been a little slower than usual, after the mail server upgrade process was sorted out and finished late in the week we experienced our usual slowdown over the US Thanksgiving period, I hope all our clients who were enjoying the holiday period had a happy and safe Thanksgiving.

Now that the mail servers have been upgraded I will be focusing on balancing a few of the web servers as well as the usual Management, Monitoring and Maintenance plans that we have implemented in order to keep things running smoothly, and my day-to-day tasks.

We are continually improving our services  and there are some current things that need attention. During the mail server upgrade we have realised that there was a lack in communication in our support team and hence we were not able to deliver 100% to our clients. We sincerely apologize for this. I will make sure that the process gets more streamlined from the coming week.

I have a request to all of our clients, which I believe that I have already mentioned in our past newsletters. Please make sure that when you send us a support request, that you mention all the details of your query. Please include all of the following things:

-What is the issue you are facing.
-When exactly the problem started.
-If there was an error message then please specify the complete error message.
-If you are referring to a problem about some other client ID then mention clearly in your query (if you have multiple accounts).
-And please send only one request for each particular problem.

With the above information I will make sure that the issue is resolved efficiently for you.

Last week I continued work on Control Panel.
We had a Javier join the development team, as well as a new one for testing and first line maintaince. Worked on coordinating tasks with team members. The results will prove to be positive in the long run, when several issues related to automation and other scripts will be refined.

We are making our system more infallible against fraud, by introducing risk management and verification schemes to check for payment details.
