New M6.Net Website

We're making great progress on the new M6.Net web site. We should have it out around next week. Vijay and Ananth have also been pulling the final pieces of the new control panel together. Many bugs have been fixed in the last week and there are about 20 known issues which is scheduled to be completed by the end of next week bringing the Beta to an end. After that there are a number of extra features Ananth will keep working on whilst Vijay starts work on some internal backend bits to support some very exciting up and coming features and new hosting products.

With the new site coming up, if you would like to send a comment for us to display on the site along with your link, we would be incredibly grateful for it. This is also an opportunity to get another link to your site on the net and our Google PR will also likely help your Google Page Rank. Please email rohanr@m6.net with your comment or link.

One of our customers http://www.independentartistscompany.com  have a fantastic site which you are likely to be interested in. The site design and functionality is an a example of a site well done. This is confirmed by the phenomenal growth it is experiencing. They just upgrade to a dedicated server from a POWERSeller. If you are a musician of just a lover of music this is a must see site. The music available there is awesome and freely available for streaming. Yes, it is all legal. We wouldn't be hosting them if it weren't.

Ed Lance, another of our customers, after reading last weeks Newsletter contacted me to say he is available to help you if you need assistance with performance tuning of your site or migration from Access to SQL: http://www.SanDiegoDataPro.com  From Ed: "I have a broad range of experience with ASP, ASP.Net, Access and SQL Server.  I have worked on everything from small Access databases to large corporate web sites.  I have done performance tuning and optimizations in SQL Server databases as well as in code (web and client)."  If you your site is growing and fast and you want to make the move from Access to SQL Server contact Ed.

It's always nice when everything just works. The new mail server I mentioned last week is still on its way, and will be ready in the next couple of days, and a new web server is not far behind. During the week -- apart from one damaged power supply bringing down a database server for a couple of hours, we've had no real dramas in Network Ops. Our monitoring system is working, keeping support ahead of most issues before they turn into problems.

This week we reached a mark of zero support requests in the queue several times. This means that all the support requests were answered in a response time of 1-2 hours. I noticed that some customers were complaining about queries being unanswered. On further investigation  I found that the query was not reached in the support queue because it was not being sent through the control panel or through the authorized email id for the hosting account. When sending a support request by email please send it using the email address you used when signing up for your account. If you are unsure if this is up to date please login to the control panel and check your account details.

Yesterday there were some reported issues with one of the database servers. Our network ops team is investigating the matter  We appreciate your support as we resolve the issue.

Tip of the Week: When submitting a support request please remember to provide all the problem details and not just a one liner that you have a problem. This will help support personnel to fix your issues in a more efficient manner. Also, to get a quick response to your requests please email the problem only to support@m6.net - support requests received at other M6.Net email addresses are just forwarded on to the support que. This means that there will be several support queries for your account and the support people then have to read through each one to ensure they are not different queries which slows down our response time to you.

Hi Everyone and a warm welcome to all our new customers and I hope that our US customers had a "scary" Halloween. The new control panel is working better and better each day, we are still getting a few bug reports and features requests but only a few per day at the moment. So please, if you have any issues write to us at bugs@copanel.com  so we can plan things properly. This week Vijay has been working on some new "backend" stuff for our new m6.net website that will be released soon.  So everything is moving along quite nicely.
