  Welcome

The revamp of the monitoring project is 2 weeks ahead of schedule. Bob and Vijay working on that project have done an excellent job - well done! We are now monitoring 30 measures on each server ranging from intervals of 15 secs to a max of 5 minutes. These key measures will help us sort out issues before they are a problem.

Next week we start a revamp of our entire backup system. I have finished the plans and itching to get into it with Bob and Vijay next week - I expect this to be completed within 14 days. After that I will be reworking and rostering all the regular network operations/administration work schedules.

Also this week we are setting up a 3rd DNS server on a secondary network. We also have a 4th DNS server within the current network. Soon we will release details of these so you may add them to your domains.

Well, after last week’s mail server situation this week was a lot smoother. We did however have a couple of issues, one with another mail server and a DNS issue, both of which have now been resolved. This week I’ve also setup a couple of new account servers, upgraded the BIND DNS server software, cleaned a few servers and completed a number of other maintenance tasks.

Hi everyone. This week i will be looking into some of the more common responses to support queries. Currently we are responding to clients a bit like parrots or in some cases, monkeys. I think this is mainly due to support not looking into a problem and just rectifying the current issue as they are more concerned with solving the problem in the fastest time possible and leave the more detailed diagnosis and problem fixing to Network Operations. I will be working with them to let you in on more of the story behind the problem and what will happen next after the short term resolution.

Hi Everyone, the team with Ananth and Javier has been busy working on the control panel the past week, with some large speed improvements in the domain list page. Most of the new reseller functionality has been done now. All these changes will be released to the beta testers later this week. Vijay has moved to the dev team and is working on streamlining our monitoring apps and then will move onto working on our internal ticket/reporting system to make that easier to use and add features that we need. If you have any requests or comments about the new control panel, please write us at bugs@copanel.com
