  Welcome

The week has been spent helping all the new support staff settle in. I have also been working with Gavan to help him settle in as Network Administrator. My main focus is to start helping Gavan to build up his task and project schedules to for the next few months.

Next week I will be working more closely with Aaron on our site update.

Network Administration

This week I have been further settling in to my new role as the Network Admin, and have also been dealing with helping our newer support staff come up to speed. Mainly it has been clarifying details and procedures for some of the less common tasks that support face, such as SSL certificates and custom components. We have also been facing some issue with one of the webservers, however the cause of the problem looks to have been identified and addressed.

There has also been some concern about mail performance, I have finished setting up a brand new mail server which is running the new SmarterMail 2.0 software. All new mail domains are now being setup on this server. Once I am happy we are all in the know with this product we will upgrade the other mail servers.

This week I will be putting my effort in taking care of 3 customers who were having some detailed issues. I will be dealing with them personaly and try to fix their issues. I will also be focusing in sharing updated technical information among my team. We are aiming to make our support team more and more customer centric.

Over the past few newsletters, I have spoken about our new product pages and their progress. Well I can safely say that those pages are nearing completion and we’ll soon be looking to a few of the other pages in our site. We’ll be looking to put across our new messages throughout all of the pages to create and test a new branding power that we have developed. The sky is no longer the limit.

The last bit for the Database Page is now complete, and that allows adding new database users to the database. Some research went into this piece of application and was a joy doing some exciting new stuff!

Also I set up Automation to Create Mail Users for the new Mail Server that has been setup.

Have started working on one of the most elegant features that Control Panel has to offer and that is the FileManager.
