M6.Net  Weekly  News    February 9 2005

Michael Guilfoyle
Director

  Welcome

I have been solidly focusing on management issues with the Account Management team, Network Admin and billing. We are experiencing rapid growth right now, which I have to thank you for! We are receiving many referrals - a big thank you to you for telling people about M6.Net. ... with this rapid growth I am keen to make sure we manage it as smooth as possible to keep everything running smoothly for you. The only issue that caused much upset was an older mail server  -which will be replaced by a new one this week along with the addition of a new mail server.

I have also been working closely with Javier to finalize the new control panel and I have been interviewing for the lead developer position, to replace Roli.

Network Administration

This week was busy again, mainly sorting out issues with one of the mail servers. The problem was caused by an error in a large mailing list which took up server resources and required removal as it was sending out messages constantly to a spam list. I'm pleased to say the new server we have setup for moving mail domains on the affected server to is setup and this move should be taking place early Friday morning US time. I will be sending out a mass mail to all clients that the move will concern later today.

This week was also spent removing old deleted accounts from certain servers, and we also have new Web, SQL and Mail servers coming soon to accommodate the growth in accounts.

Managing a support team is a great job and I am trying my best on regular basis to improve the performance of the team. There are some important issues that sometimes makes our clients upset. The coming week I will be finding the cause of those issues and will try to bring a permanent solution to it. These will include the notification of downtimes that may occur due to some upgrades or similar events.

Also, we will be training more support personnel in order to improve the response time and making a quick resolution of issues.
