Welcome | |

|
Having a great week this week - Gavan successfully upgraded one of our
mail servers and will continue to do the others over the coming weeks.
Roli is making excellent progress on the new control panel with some
incredibly rich functionality. We are looking at moving Leo from
support into development to assist in the development team to speed up
work on the new control panel. We will be bringing on a writer next week to start producing the documentation and create some tutorials and how to's for the new control panel and web hosting in general. |

This week marked a big
step for us with the first of our mail server upgrades to SmarterMail 2.
We have been running the software for over a month now on our newest
mail server with a fresh installation, but the upgrade was our first and
I'm pleased to say it all went smoothly. The conversion of the mailboxes
to the new format took a little longer than expected but there were no
major errors, and the next upgrade will occur this weekend. Keep your
eye out for an email with the details of that one. |

This week we have finished the upgrade of
one mail server to Smarter Mail 2.0. We understand this might have
created some inconvenience. We can assure you that the upgrade was
successful and the accounts are back to normal. This will resolve the
problems that we were having before with the old mail server: The
performance is much better with Version 2 at about 1.5 times better and
the Anti-Spam features are much better in this new version. This week and next week, I will be focussing mainly on some minor technical improvements in the support team. These will be updating them on the latest issues and providing effective support when on call. |

| The File Manager control
worked out very well and I was able to spend good amount of time on it,
even though there were small little things that kept creeping up and
needed immediate attention. Tried some new components in the File
Manager, and was satisfied with the outcome. Last week I continued modifying, building and testing the backup scripts for our servers. Also I spent some time on writing scripts to activate monitoring and disciplining emails on one of our mailboxes. |
