Michael Guilfoyle Director |
Welcome Bob, Gavan and Mary have done a terrific job helping clients with a number of mail issues over the past week and tightening our systems to be more efficient and robust. Many of the mail issues experienced have now been completely resolved.
We have come up with some value-added services which would be simple for us to add, that could generate huge amounts of interested traffic for your site(s). I have been pouring over our database, which is very inspiring, to find new ways to help our customers. I have also been visiting a lot of the sites we host and have been discussing with Michael N, Bob and Rohan over the past month about how we can help get more from your web sites. We already offer an immense amount of space and bandwidth and are one of the few hosts with such flexible hosting technolgy available. We already have progressed a lot toward improving our operations and increasing our services. We have put together a number of offers you can take advantage of with the goal of generating more visitors to your site, and creating back links to improve your search engine ranking. You can check out our ideas at http://www.m6.net/marketingoffers.aspx; if you have some ideas of your own about how you think we could help you in this area, we'd be very happy to hear them. Bob Watson Network Operations |
Network Administration
We've had a full week -- early last Wednesday morning, we had a hard drive fail in one of our older machines; prompting a rebuild on a new machine and a new network as fast as we could. I'm happy to say that the vast majority of sites on the machine were again operational 24 hours after they went down; and am claiming this as a good test, however unfortunate the circumstances, of our new documentation and procedures. We also had around 130 fraudulent sites sneak past our fraud detection systems (up from 4-5 per month!) and end up created on our mail servers. This was a big upset -- and I spent most of the end of last week and most of this week deleting the fraudulent domains, emailing blacklist administrators and tightening our fraud detection systems. Unfortunately, we are still listed by a few spam blacklist servers, such as SpamCop. If you are having blacklist issues, we have done everything it is within our power to do -- but as we do not control the blacklists in any way, we can't provide estimated times when the problem will end. |

Gavan O'Connor-Risch Support Coordinator |
Support & Customer Service
This week has been busy, yet good for support, with the mail issues that have affected some clients over the past week now in the final stages of clearing up. Apart from these mail issues, we've been a little busier than normal however server issues have been minimal so we expect to be through the mail issues shortly and back to normal operation. |
Mary Shobana Lead Developer |
Development and New Technology
Hi everyone, this week we have been concentrating on some internal systems that will hopefully make the company running smoother. Also some major control bugs were fixed. |
