  Welcome

The upgrade to SmarterMail 2 took place on the mail server with my own personal domains last weekend. Wow.. I really like it. In SmarterMail 2 they have some very nice anti spam filtering and the interface is much cleaner and incredibly simple.

As domain administrator you will see some very powerful anti-spam features featuring multi ORDB checking and Bayesian filtering Mixed with your own filters and with a little bit of time you could tweak it to get rid of most of the spam you are getting.

This week we upgraded the second of our SmarterMail 1.6 servers to version 2.0. There was a small issue with the webmail interface upgrade but that problem was resolved, and the cause isolated so it will not occur again this weekend, when we will be upgrading the final mail servers. More info on that in a separate mail out today.

I have also been working with Roli in regards to a DNS issue which occurred when removing old domains from our system.

After getting a toll free number straight to our support desk, we are able to provide an instant support to many of our clients. Not only to the existing clients, it is also helping us to provide detailed information to our new clients in regards to our new plans and packages.

This week and the coming week we will focus on improving the phone support. We need to make sure that the kind of service that we provide to our clients is of best quality. We will be focusing on how to make each call as efficient as possible so we can provide answers to all clients through web based, email and telephone on equal basis. I would ask that you use the telephone as a last resort or for urgent queries as using the web based/email for support gives us detailed information we can work with, and it is the most efficient way for us to answer queries.

There were many small but important issues I had to deal with this week.

Worked on scripts for maintenance of DNS. Made changes in the Automation scripts, for deleting DNS from servers.

There was some fix required for adding resale accounts from Control Panel, such that the DNS and stats server would get set up. We did realize that there was a fix required and have looked into it. I have fixed the DNS issue but there is a timeout issue I am still investigating with Gavan on SmarterStats.

Work on File Manager, slowed down a bit due to other issues, but have resumed it, and its now in its completion stages.
