  Welcome

oops.. last week I sent out the newsletter with the previous weeks date. Thank you to Satori of www.actionscript.com for the polite pointer.

This week we have encountered very odd, very cryptic errors in one of our mail servers. The server appears healthy and after awhile .Net gives out an error message that can mean one of many things. We've cleaned up the server more than required and are monitoring key metrics.  POP3, IMAP and SMTP are working fine. The .Net error is in relation to the web mail interface. We are also working closely with the developers to trace the .Net error. On Early Sunday morning there was downtime on this mail server as we took the server down to do immediate health checks on the disks as to not risk any data loss.

This week we have been busy setting up more redundant office internet connections (our connections to the internet - not the servers), readying new servers for our own web sites, working through and adding the finishing touches to our monitoring and alert systems and working through the process of implementing new backup systems.

Network Administration

This week has been a busy one, mostly with mail server issues on one of our older mail servers. We are still working on that issue and hope to have a resolution as soon as possible. There was also a minor issue on another of the mail servers, however that issue is now fixed. I have also been working on restoring a server in our local office which had a failure last week, and have been working with Bob as he gets up to speed on some Network Admin tasks.

Support at the moment is going great. The support queue is a little high today due to the mail server issue and we are bringing the number of queries down with extra people on today's shifts. So if there is a delay in response by 4-5 hours then please do not panic as it is just a result of extra load on the support queue.

We also understand your concerns related to mail server issue. And we assure that our network admin team is trying hard to resolve this matter ASAP. If you are getting issues connecting to your mail server through web interface, then a workaround (till the issue is resolved) would be to configure your Outlook Express or any other email clients. As the POP3, SMTP and IMAP are working fine.  You can use IMAP and keep your mail on the server and just use Outlook to view, manage and send emails.

One suggestion for all the clients: In order to avoid any issues related to billing and to avoid suspension of your account temporarily, please login into your control panel and make sure that your credit card details are up to date. Your link for control panel login is http://control.m6.net

Hi Everyone, this past week we have continued to work on the Control panel and made some new reports and features for server admin.

Vijay in particular has been working on our internal system so our support staff can control more functionality through our system, instead of having to go to each server to fix routine things.

Ananth has been updating the Control Panel with new look of the domain page etc, all our testers should see the changes we have done. The login page has also been worked on to make it easier for our reseller to customize it. Javier has been adding some features, like status of domain etc to the "backend", which we will also show in the control panel soon. Like always, if you have any suggestions or comments please let us know by sending an email to bugs@copanel.com
