Welcome | |

Lots of little details this week. The main focus of my efforts were
providing planning and management support to the team as a number of
issues were dealt with. As always everyone came together very well and
we successfully solved these annoying problems while maintaing the rest
of the operations efficiently. We used these challenges to our
advantage, to develop more procedures and perfect supporting
applications. I am working closely with Kunal, to help him set direction and lead the Support Team: understanding training requirements, coaching team members on their communication skills with clients and how to prioritize in pressured situations. We'll be hiring more developers to backup Roli to speed up the release of several new products. |

A busy week dealing with a DDoS attack on one of our servers and some issues with the final mail server upgrade. Both issues are now behind us, only a small amount of mailboxes are waiting to be converted on this final mail server upgrade. I have also been working with Roli to finalize the client move scripts and help setup the bandwidth and disk space reporting tools. |

The upgrade of Smarter Mail on our one of
the last server is finished. It took longer than expected. However, it
was mainly due to a large amount of domains with unusually large amounts
of emails and mailboxes on the server. We appreciate the patience shown
by our clients during this upgrade. Our support team is doing great! Starting from last week we have started a team huddle for new trainings and updates. We will be following this till we get a good flow among all our team members (new and old). |

| Another week of hard core
building up and maintenance of several applications and scripts. Started with work on the remaining bits of the Control panel, but drifted to more demanding issues, developing scripts for backing up data from the servers, as one of our servers experienced threats of DOS attacks. Also worked on bugs related to the Developer Showcase on the Intranet and few Automation issues. One of the things I'd have been wanting to set up since I started the CP development, was executing scripts to calculate bandwidths for every domain. And also calculating disk space usage for every client. This took up some time to set up on all the servers and scheduling it to run. Thanks to Gavan, for his help in getting this done. This will help in monitoring the bandwidth and disk space usage and is a very useful part of our system. |
