Michael Guilfoyle
Director

  Welcome
Ok... after sending last weeks newsletter talking about how smooth things were going the amount of inbound and outbound traffic started jumping the next day, a few sites on ONE particular server generated a huge amount of traffic, and as many sites on that server were set to high process there, this caused failures in the IIS web service. The problem was quickly resolved by people in the Support and Network Admin teams.

Although the traffic has not reduced and continues at it's seasonally rapid pace, everything in our operations is running smoothly. We do have proactive and reactive monitoring systems, 24 hour support staff and key technical people on call at all hours of the day.

Happy Thanks Giving to all our US friends.

  Operations
Busy week last week, with support queries under control all the time and servers no problems except one. Overall operational sides are running pretty smooth.

Michael put some information in our last newsletter about our new brand development, new site and upcoming product line which concerned a few clients. We would like to assure everyone that there is nothing to worry about. These upcoming changes will be to represent all the internal changes we have made in the last year, in our year long improvement program on our web sites and communications and to re-look at our hosting product line to offer more flexibility, more options and more affordable hosting accounts. We have never raised prices or added restrictions - as per our brand - we always add flexibility and lower prices. Our objective in these changes is to offer ever more competitive hosting products to keep added of all others in the hosting industry, as we have done for 6 years.

We are always improving our services, operations and products, this is a big part of what makes us "M6.Net"

  Network Administration
We had some problems with one of our web servers in the last week. ASP Stopped working and the server stopped accepting connections. The problem was that too many sites were set on high process. We have fixed the issue and everything is running smoothly. Sites are set on high process when we are looking for particular problem sites. We apologize for any inconvenience. This was limited to one server.

I have been working on a client usage report so we can move clients off older servers and onto newer servers with more memory, disk space and CPU. Before we move any clients we will contact you and provide plenty of warning. It is always our objective to make such changes as seamless as possible.

This week I will be training new support people who are joining our M6.net team.
I will also be continuing to carry out server balancing tasks based on Chins Client report and working out a schedule for current support people to work within the Network Admin team as part of our natural internal staff development program

Finally New Client Automation is completed and released. We are concentrating on Control Panel automation right now. There are few issues on some servers where the Automation is not working completely, and we are still debugging and fixing the problems.

Below is the Automation task that is ready to use in Control Panel
1. Create FTP User
2. Create Windows user
3. Setting Permission within the File Manager

We are still working on creating IIS Website, Virtual Directory Automation for the Control Panel and they should be working by the end of this week.
