Know any web hosting company that spends upwards of 40% of their total revenue on research and development? Now you do. We’re concurrently maintaining our web hosting services and developing new tools to make your life easier. We are always on the lookout for the next best thing for you. This is what sets us apart from the rest. We have a team of dedicated software engineers developing software in-house to provide tools to give the added efficiency for us and for you. Here’s a list of what we’ve done and a preview of what’s to come:

Alertrix
Alertrix is a specialized tool keeping track of 100’s of metrics across our operations in real time. Every person at M6.Net runs this tool and gets updated on metric changes every 5 minutes. We also graph this real-time data looking at the trends unfolding before us so we can adjust strategy, plan and respond to the incredibly dynamic environment we are in.
Alertrix is also our communication tool that gives us a way of communicating with others around the office, even leaving messages for others to read for staff arriving at different times of the day. Acting much like a messaging system, it is used in our office to inform staff of important information such as the problems encountered and the solutions found. It also presents important data from our central database such as the number of support queries, number of visitors to our website, and transactions so we’ll spot risks before they turn into issues.

Monitor
Looking after our servers has been made easier by this nifty piece of software. Monitor gathers all metrics for our client servers like disk space, CPU, and memory utilization and displays them in a central location. In one grid we can drill down on servers and get an overview of server groups of thousands of metrics. Problems can be seen and fixed before they become too great.

ContactDB
This is a contact management system unlike any other. We can manage multiple business units, handle email correspondence and drill down, search and manage thousands of contacts as easy as if there were only a few. ContactDB also supports campaign management, Sales manager and Sales reps relationships, multiple reps for each contact, ‘feelings’ management, call management, direct mail management and so much more. It is a Windows application built for in house purposed one day when we clean up the UI and make it ‘prerdy’ we might let it for or customers.

Control Panel Version 3
First there was the revolutionary Control Panel released in 1998, doing away managing accounts through email. Next was Control Panel v2, introducing features such as multiple domains, databases, users and a file manager. Now Control Panel v3 has emerged featuring an updated interface with numerous amounts of advanced features. We’re already working on Version 4.

Vesco (coming soon)
This will be an RSS reader/publisher for web logs. It’s still being developed but it will have some very, very useful features – (think: Holy Grail) - that we’ll keep secret for now. Stay tuned for more information about this in the near future.
Huey
This is a very deep, almost pure research, project we’re working on that we believe is the future of hosting. It’s an incredibly simple idea at the back end with an almost “why hasn’t that already been done” user front end. This is 3 years away.
